Karlyn Glidewell
Momentum artist since 2011, Choreographer
Karlyn Glidewell is a graduate of the University of Alaska Anchorage and received her Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Dance. She started dancing at age 3 at Center Stage Dance Studio on Elmendorf and continued there until she joined Dance Spectrum Alaska's company in 2005. She has choreographed for Dance Spectrum, UAA's New Dances 2011 and 2012, The Dance Machine, East High Dance Contempo, and has had the privilege to take master classes from artists such as Carlos Jones, Donald Byrd, Tammy Gibson, and cast members from Broadway's, The Lion King. She continues to create and perform with Momentum Dance Collective as a company member since 2011, performing on sites and locations all over Anchorage including their collaboration with the Light Brigade, as an aerial dancer in the acclaimed ‘Over Beyond Across Through.’
Outside of dance, Karlyn works in tourism, and enjoys reading and spending time with her husband and son, who will be promoted to big brother this March.
This is Karlyn's eleventh season with Momentum, and she is very happy to continue dancing with her Momo family.
