Beth Daly Gamble
What moves me? sunrises and alpenglow, classic songs on the radio, kids showing confidence, random acts of kindness, identifying with other teachers, mothers, & performers, sharing a moment with just a look, crisp fall, morning air, anticipation before a reunion, a smile from a stranger, first hugs of the day
Before moving up to Alaska, Beth danced for 14 years in Madison, Wisconsin. In the fall of 2004, she auditioned to be a part of the UAA Dance Ensemble and joined under the direction of Brian Jeffrey. For four semesters, Beth performed at UAA, as well as at the American College Dance Festival. Beth choreographed for UAA's New Dances performance for two semesters, as well as performed in New Dances 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008. Beth has moved into other dance opportunities and has enjoyed being a part of the dance community. She has instructed during the Dance Together Alaska Festival, as well as UAA Dance Club dance workshops. Beth is a founding member of Momentum Dance Collective, as well as a choreographer and performer in over 10 Momentum productions. She developed and directed Momentum's production of 'Taste' in 2011 and co-directed ‘The 80s: The Decade that Moved Us’ in 2015 and continues to be a collaborator on all company productions which include works for theatre, film, and site specific performances. When she isn't at the studio or in the classroom she can be found adventuring in the Alaskan outback with her husband, daughter, and son.
